TODAY IS GRANDPARENT’S DAY OF PRAYER

Today is Grandparent’s Day of Prayer I hope you had the opportunity to pray with other grandparents for each other’s grandchildren. It is always a blessing when we can share our joys and our burdens with other believers.

We are living in challenging times in our world; some are calling it a post-Christian era. The media-driven culture is desensitizing our grandchildren, exposing them to a deceptive worldly lifestyle. Since our world is in moral and spiritual decline, we as grandparents are in a battle for the minds and hearts of our dear grandchildren.

Satan is trying to destroy their faith, in addition to trying to destroy the morals of our country, especially the family unit. Satan knows the signs of Christ’s return more than we do. He is enraged because he knows his time is short. It is urgent that we stand in the gap to pray for the spiritual, emotional, and physical protection of our grandchildren. The parents of our grandchildren face a tremendous task of guiding them on a journey to be godly men and women, not victims of our worldly culture and desperately need our prayers.

Our grandchildren back in school now desperately need their grandparents to pray intentionally for their safety physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Don’t forget to ask them for their teacher’s name so you can pray for them.

• Ask God to cancel the assignments of the enemy against your grandchildren and their parents.

• Pray your grandchildren will live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9 NIV),

“The Lord . . . hears the prayer of the righteous” (Proverbs 15:29).

Send me your ideas of how we can pray for our grandchildren in school. I would love to hear form you. lpenner@christiangrandparenting.net

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
