This week I want to share the story a grandmother in Ohio sent me after her first Grandparents @ Prayer meeting. It is so exciting to see how God has answered prayer and to share her passion of the urgency of praying for grandchildren.
“The meeting went so well tonight. There were 11 women there, and three more could not make it tonight, but will be there next week! They ranged from young to older grandmothers with grandchildren ranging from babies to almost 30! After having them fill out the grandparent information page, we spent a few minutes sharing our stories about our grandchildren, there were some sad ones needing lots of prayer. I shared how the Lord brought this about, how the book Grandparenting with a Purpose really encouraged me, and how I wanted to share it with others and encourage others to pray.
We read some Scriptures on prayer and passing our faith to the next generation (like Psalm 78:1-7). I had planned to look through the first 13 pages of the book together, however, we did not get through everything I had hoped to, but it was what the Lord had intended! We spent the last 10 minutes in groups of 3 and 4 praying for one another and our grandchildren. All of them seemed excited to be doing this and I am so thankful to the Lord for helping me to organize a G@P group and get it started!
Lillian, thank you!”
