Grandparents At Prayer In Minnesota

by | Aug 9, 2009 | 0 comments

According to GRAND magazine1, there were over 70 million grandparents in the United States (more than the entire population of the UK) in 2007.   Imagine the impact the Christian grandparents from this population could have on their grandchildren if they had a concern and passion to pray for that generation!

Christian Grandparenting Network feels that grandparents can be very influential on today’s grandchildren by forming Grandparents@Prayer intercessory prayer groups all over the world.

Grandparents@Prayer groups have been meeting for about five years in the Twin Cities, MN area. Here’s Patsy’s experience with the Grandparents@Prayer intercessory prayer groups in the Twin Cities…

“Our Grandparents@Prayer members have a passion in their hearts to pray fervently and regularly for their children and grandchildren. Our groups in the Twin Cities consist of 5-14 people, couples and singles, meeting for an hour of prayer for their families once or twice a month. Some meet in homes, others meet at Wooddale Chapel, meeting either daytime or evening.

Our groups have received answered prayer on healing of missionary grandchildren in Africa with malaria, successful adoption of a granddaughter from China, the healthy birth of a grandchild, new direction through Jesus Christ for a stumbling teenager and many more. Our prayers have been remarkable over the past five years!

Our precious Lord deeply yearns for our prayers and desires us to petition his blessings upon our family. The Holy Spirit is so evident in this commitment to prayer! I challenge you to become a passionate, praying parent or grandparent so that you may become God’s blessing to the generations that follow you!”

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
