Colorado Springs Mayor Issues Proclamation For CGN

CGN was privileged and honored to receive an official proclamation by Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera declaring July 2008 as CHRISTIAN GRANDPARENTING MONTH in recognition and appreciation for the contribution CGN is making through the Military GrandCamp program to support the sons and daughters of our deployed troops. Here is the text of the entire Proclamation.

 

CHRISTIAN GRANDPARENTING NETWORK MONTH

July 2008

WHEREAS, the children of our nations’ soldiers bravely face the absence of their parents for months and even years; and

WHEREAS, our community recognizes that this separation results in emotional and physical difficulties in the family, in school and for the development of these children; and

WHEREAS, informed citizens acknowledge and appreciate the significant contributions of the Christian Grandparenting Network to support the sons and daughters of our deployed troops through its development of intergenerational family developments at the Christian Grandparenting Network Military Kid GrandCamps; and

WHEREAS, the City of Colorado Springs recognizes the important role the Christian Grandparenting Network plays in the unity and inspiration of the entire community, particularly in the lives of military children; and

WHEREAS, to further recognize the bravery of these children and to create further awareness of the work the Christian Grandparenting Network is doing we set aside this month of July.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Lionel Rivera, Mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado, proclaim the month of July 2008 as,
CHRISTIAN GRANDPARENTING NETWORK APPRECIATION MONTH

in the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Colorado Springs to be affixed this 15th day of July 2008.
