A Grandparents Blessing

by | May 22, 2007 | 0 comments

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring …  (Isaiah 44:3)

A grandparent’s blessing is a special event for a child.  More than just empty words, a real spiritual blessing can be a powerful milestone in a child’s religious development.  Nothing brings the generations together in unity like a formal blessing from one generation to the next.

If you visit the CGN resource section, you will find our guide to Blessing Your Grandchildren, a guide to writing a blessing for your grandchild that will truly lodge in his or her young heart, along with many examples of excellent blessings written by CGN friends and partners.

We think that blessing your grandchildren is so important that CGN is offering a special service.  Write up your blessing using Microsoft Word or a text editor, and e-mail it to Cavin Harper along with your postal address.  CGN will print your blessing on beautiful parchment paper, suitable for framing, and send it back to you.  You can frame and hang your blessing in your home, in your grandchild’s room, in the family room, or wherever it can serve as a permanent reminder of the love and support that your grandchildren can always count on!

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
