A FATHER’S DAY IDEA

by | Jun 11, 2011 | 0 comments

This year for Father’s Day, send the father of your grandchildren a greeting card with this prayer, in addition to praying this prayer for them yourself.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the fathers of my grandchildren.
I ask your blessing on them as they train and lead my grandchildren
into a purposeful and meaningful life.
Help them to faithfully teach their children, my grandchildren, Your Word
since it is a “lamp to our feet and a light to our path.”
May they lead them to an acceptance of salvation through Jesus Christ’s sacrificial love.
Help them to model Christ-like love to their children in all of life’s experiences
so my grandchildren will know the path to a blessed life.
Help them to trust in Your wisdom to be the spiritual leader in the home.
Give them a deep desire to have an ever-growing relationship with Christ.

In Christ’s name, Amen

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
