We're fighting a spiritual war with an enemy whose primary tactic is deception, and our grandchildren are his targets. Standing in the gap and praying in unity is powerful and ensures his defeat. With this in mind, Christian Grandparenting Network has developed a 10-week plan for equipping grandparents to stand united in prayer for their grandchildren.

Oh, how we love our grandchildren, and rightly so. But we must never forget that our responsibility is not exclusive to them. We are called to disciple the generations, and that includes our grown children.

Let me introduce Jack and Jill. You knew them as children, toting a pail of water up a hill. They are grandparents now, and their loads are much greater. How are we supporting fellow grandparents?

During the month of July in the United States, concepts of patriotism, liberty, and loyalty are bandied about. An examination of these words in light of God’s Word can prepare us for meaningful discussions with our children and grandchildren. 

My grandmothers had such a strong influence on my faith that, although I only saw them a few times a year and maybe one week during the summer, it mattered. I am certain that God used every moment for His good and for His purposes. That is how Jesus and a Broom became part of my faith journey.

American pride and patriotism swell as we celebrate the founding of our country on July 4th. What if we celebrated our freedom in Christ the same way?

When Jesus says, “I am the gate for the sheep,” (John 10:7, NIV) he is declaring that we are his sheep and always under his protection. There is no greater security than having Christ guard the gate between us and the dangers of the world.

Grandparents are in a spiritual battle for the next generation. It's our place as grandparents to get on our knees, humble ourselves, seek God's face, repent our sins, and intercede for our grandchildren and their parents throughout every nation.
