Anyone who thinks the Bible is boring hasn’t read the twelfth chapter of Acts. When we pray together as the Body of Christ, also known as corporate prayer, we are praying in conjunction with the spiritual discipline of fellowship.

My friend, Susan, was troubled by her visits with her grandchildren. It wasn’t chocolate cupcakes smashed into the carpet, crayon marks on the kitchen counter, or children’s voices reverberating through the house. The troubling part was she never had one-on-one time with any of her grandchildren. In order to create time with each grandchild, Susan enacted a “Grandchild of the Month” plan. Here's how she did it.

In today’s culture there is a new kind of family springing up all over our nation. It’s called, “Grandfamily”. When the opioid epidemic slammed the US, a new epidemic followed shortly thereafter: the Grandparent’s epidemic. Nearly 90 % of the grandfamilies today were created due to an addiction and it’s changing the structure of families globally. We need to share new and exciting dreams with these children. 

The shift in culture that America has experienced has been so sudden and strange that it has left many youth and children’s ministry leaders scratching their heads. Assuming that the rate of cultural change is unlikely to slow, how do we respond as God’s people? We need a reorientation that will especially benefit younger generations. 

Today our nation is being attacked educationally, socially, financially, politically, racially, and spiritually. Christianity is under assault; parents and grandparents are involved in a tug of war for their children's hearts and minds. Join grandparents throughout the world in uniting in prayer Sunday, September 11, for a Day of Prayer for their grandchildren and their parents.

Ezekiel 34 is a prophecy pertaining to shepherds and sheep. This prophecy is regarding the shepherds that were overseers for the people of God, and another shepherd that was to come later. Ezekiel foretold of the Messiah who would, like a true shepherd, come to keep God’s people safe.

Our complicated 21st century presents complex issues that previous generations of grandparents didn’t have to face. There is currently a massive number of young people who are abandoning their faith and leaving the Church. One of the primary factors for those young people who are staying connected to the Church and are flourishing in their faith is that they tend to be marked by having multiple adults investing in their lives. The Pray for Me Campaign gives every young person in the church the intergenerational relationships they need to flourish in faith and life beginning with prayer.
