The shift in culture that America has experienced has been so sudden and strange that it has left many youth and children’s ministry leaders scratching their heads. Assuming that the rate of cultural change is unlikely to slow, how do we respond as God’s people? We need a reorientation that will especially benefit younger generations. 

Today our nation is being attacked educationally, socially, financially, politically, racially, and spiritually. Christianity is under assault; parents and grandparents are involved in a tug of war for their children's hearts and minds. Join grandparents throughout the world in uniting in prayer Sunday, September 11, for a Day of Prayer for their grandchildren and their parents.

Ezekiel 34 is a prophecy pertaining to shepherds and sheep. This prophecy is regarding the shepherds that were overseers for the people of God, and another shepherd that was to come later. Ezekiel foretold of the Messiah who would, like a true shepherd, come to keep God’s people safe.

Our complicated 21st century presents complex issues that previous generations of grandparents didn’t have to face. We invite readers to submit questions about the challenges you are facing or have faced and, if possible, solutions or efforts you have made to handle an issue. We thank you in advance for helping us to create a resource that we are trusting God to use as an encouragement to the grandparent generation.

There is currently a massive number of young people who are abandoning their faith and leaving the Church. One of the primary factors for those young people who are staying connected to the Church and are flourishing in their faith is that they tend to be marked by having multiple adults investing in their lives. The Pray for Me Campaign gives every young person in the church the intergenerational relationships they need to flourish in faith and life beginning with prayer.

We're fighting a spiritual war with an enemy whose primary tactic is deception, and our grandchildren are his targets. Standing in the gap and praying in unity is powerful and ensures his defeat. With this in mind, Christian Grandparenting Network has developed a 10-week plan for equipping grandparents to stand united in prayer for their grandchildren.

Oh, how we love our grandchildren, and rightly so. But we must never forget that our responsibility is not exclusive to them. We are called to disciple the generations, and that includes our grown children.
