“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” ( John 1:1-5 NIV)
Our families are experiencing the busiest time of the year. We have decorated, bought presents, prepared special foods, and enjoyed family traditions.
We are celebrating the birth of Jesus, and are reminded to walk in His presence. What does it mean to experience a daily walk with Jesus? Who is the risen Christ?
Jesus is the purest light. There is no darkness.
Jesus is LOVE. Unconditional LOVE.
In a world where we face obstacles to this love, we must remember to turn our faces back to the light of the world, and the warmth and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
It is hard to understand how much Jesus loves each one of us. Of course as Christians we know God loves us, but that is head knowledge. What about heart knowledge? Do we know, in our hearts, how much Jesus loves us? Can we completely accept His mercy and grace into our daily lives? Can we walk in His love?
For me, the excitement of Christmas is followed by January, a quiet month. The trees are bare, the weather is cold, and I spend time indoors. I reflect on the past year and consider the new one. I focus on my daily walk with the Son of God, the Son of man; Jesus Christ.
Several Januarys ago, I attended a healing conference. I knew I needed spiritual healing. The world had convinced me that I was unworthy of God’s love. Through solid biblical teaching, prayers, and the presence of the Holy Spirit, I experienced the heart-filling knowledge that I am unconditionally loved by Jesus Christ. It changed my life.
I pray that this coming January you will be able to experience the love of Jesus in a new way. He knows you and loves you, and 2000 years ago he was born to save you. Let him into your heart. Rest in the knowledge of his love, and share that love with the world.
