Utilize this season to connect with your grandchildren through teaching, crafts, engaging in activities, serving, celebrating together as a family, giving gifts, and reflecting on Christ.

As a grandparent, I have a great responsibility to my own grandchildren, and to the next generation. I am to proclaim to them the glorious deeds of the LORD and the wonders He has done.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let us hold fast to the words that Paul wrote to Ephesians. Let us give “thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20).

The impact of our own personal faith life - revealed in such daily activities as early morning devotional times, a happy spirit that expresses joy in songs, and a sweet demeanor in the face of physical challenges of aging, will leave a permanent imprint on our grandchildren’s lives.

Take heart, my fellow grandparent. By God’s grace, the Lord could use you to have memory-making, life-shaping Bible studies with your grandchildren.

Most of us are respectful of physical boundaries, which define our property lines. Boundaries such as split-rail or chain-link fences. Are we aware of the intangible boundaries surrounding our personhood or the personhood of our grandchildren and their parents?

One of the most powerful tools any grandparent can utilize is that of asking questions. However, like anything else, the better we understand this tool, the more effective its use.

Every grandparent is different. Each has a unique set of circumstances to navigate and personal challenges to overcome. God calls all of us to take courage and trust Him to guide us in our vital role.
