Prayer: Our Best Weapon in a Spiritual Battle

by | Jun 20, 2022 | 0 comments

Grandparents are in a spiritual battle for the next generation, however, the battle isn’t ours. The battle belongs to the Lord. “Do not be afraid or discouraged … For the battle is not yours, but God’s,” (2 Chronicles 20:15b).

The way to walk through this struggle is to tightly grip the hand of Jesus and stay in close communication with him. We are free to cling to his hand only as we release our grandchildren and their parents’ concerns to the Lord. We cannot grab his hand when our hands are full of the worries and fears of the world. Only when our hands are empty can we hold the Lord’s hand tightly.

The enemy wants to divide or collapse our families, rendering them chaotic, restless, unfruitful, unnecessary, and out of date. Grandparents, let’s not let the enemy distract us or dull our desires to pray intentionally for our precious grandchildren and their parents. We utilize the greatest weapon in our toolbox; it’s time we exercise the power of prayer.

It’s our place as grandparents to get on our knees, humble ourselves, seek God’s face, repent our sins, and intercede for our grandchildren and their parents throughout every nation. Then having done all, we stand firm in our faith that God has heard and will answer our prayers according to his will.

I invite grandparents worldwide to pray with me for our grandchildren and their parents. Our struggle with the enemy is the reason Christian Grandparenting Network (CGN) is proclaiming National Grandparents’ Day on September 11 as a Grandparents’ Day of Prayer.

Christian Grandparenting Network believes the battle for the hearts and minds of our children and grandchildren will be victorious when praying grandparents sense the urgency and the need to unite in prayer.

Help us call grandparents to join in prayer during Grandparents’ Day of Prayer. CGN will provide step-by-step guidelines, resources, and online tools to help you successfully engage grandparents in prayer for your event.

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. 33 More Years

Since 1900, the average life span of an American has increased by 33 years. This means there is a veritable army of grandparents with more years to pass on the legacy of faith that has sustained them throughout their life onto their grandchildren who are just beginning theirs.

God’s Promise of Abundant Life

When we think of having an abundant life, we often link it to the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of abundance as “having ample quantity; being plentiful”. While God’s blessings provide us with physical and material provisions, the Bible emphasizes his promise of spiritual abundance.
