Reflecting God’s Love In The Autumn Season of Life

by | Nov 13, 2011 | 0 comments

My husband and I were recently traveling in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas enjoying the beauty of the autumn season with the gorgeous gold and red leaves. As I was admiring the bright colors of the leaves, I was reminded as grandparents we are in the autumn season of life.

During the autumn season of our lives, God gives grandparents the special gift of grandparenting. Along with that precious grandchild, God gives us a sacred trust, an opportunity to imprint a child’s life with God’s faithfulness.

Autumn leaves turn vibrant colors before the winter season sets in. I asked myself does my life reflect a vibrant, godly life to my grandchildren in this season of my life. Do they see me as a contended, grateful, praying grandparent walking with God?

Do you reflect a vibrant godly life in your autumn season?

Lord, help me to reflect the vibrant beauty of a godly life to my dear grandchildren. In Jesus name.

While living in uncertain times, as intercessors for our grandchildren, we must be vigilant and faithful. We are living in a godless society that requires godly grandparenting.

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
