HONORING OUR VETERANS

by | Nov 5, 2011 | 0 comments

We will be celebrating Veteran’s Day this week honoring the men and women who sacrificed their lives for the freedoms our country enjoys. Talk to your grandchildren about the members of your family that have served in the military and are serving now. If your grandchildren know someone who is deployed in the military now, encourage them to pray for that person by name and their family.

In I Timothy 6:18 we read that we are “to do good, to be rich in good works, to be ready to impart, willing to communicate.” One of the ways we can teach our grandchildren to do good and be rich in good works is by praying for the men and women who have served and are serving in the military currently and reach out to their families with kindness.

No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
