Suggestions To Pray For Military Families

by | May 24, 2010 | 0 comments

We are soon approaching Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a day when we honor those. men and women who died while serving in the United States military service. Christian Grandparenting Network would like to take this week to encourage their readers to pray for the grieving military troops and their families who have lost loved ones. Let’s not forget  those who have given their lives for the freedom we have here in the U.S.

However. we would also like to share suggestions of how we can pray for our troops and their families at this time.

  1. Pray for protection of our troops as they serve us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.
  2. Pray for their families left behind. Deployment places a lot of stress on the spouses and children.
  3. Pray for the grandparents of these military kids left behind to provide spiritual and emotional support. In addition, the grandparents are also facing the insecurity and concern for their sons and daughters in harms way.
  4. Pray for the witness of our troops who believe in Jesus Christ among their units and the local people with whom they come in contact.
  5. Pray for the Chaplains as they minister to the troops.
  6. Pray for physical and spiritual protection our troops as they face hostile surroundings.
  7. Pray our troops as they loose their comrades in battle.
  8. Pray for comfort for the families at home of the wounded and those who have lost their lives.
  9. Pray for the grandchildren who will be attending the Military Kids Grand Camp with their grandparents in July in Colorado.

Let’s support our troops and their families with our prayers.

Check out the link to the Military Kids Grand Camp on our website. If you know, grandparents who have grandchildren whose parents are deployed ask them to contact Cavin Harper at Christian Grandparenting so we can tell them a bout the Military Kids Grand Camp.

The Bread That Lasts Forever

Bread baking is one of my favorite pastimes. It began when my mother first introduced me to the art of yeasted breadmaking. Back then, I had to climb up onto a chair to reach the counter. I loved standing there with my mother’s arms wrapped around me while she pressed...

Discovering Jesus – The Lamb of God

During biblical times in the Jewish religious life and sacrificial system, lambs were sacrificed daily to atone for the sins of the people. The lambs used in these sacrifices had to be spotless, without blemish or defects as they symbolized perfect, blameless purity. They foreshadowed what the prophet Isaiah told of the coming One who would be brought “like a lamb to the slaughter”.

In Psalm 78, the people of the northern tribes of Israel are described as “forgetting what God had done, the wonders He had shown them”. They had spiritual amnesia. Make yourself aware of the definition, risk factors, symptoms, and prognosis of this spiritually deadly disease.
