How Do You Feed Your Lambs?

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?

“Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.”

“Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. Jesus repeated the question:

“Simon son of John, do you love me?

“Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.”

“Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.

A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said,

“Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep.” John 21:15-17 (NLT)

While reading this Scripture God brought to my attention that we as grandparents have been entrusted with a flock of lambs. Just as Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep, God has given us as grandparents a responsibility to feed, nurture and care for our lambs with His love and His Word.

How do we do this?  Pray their hearts will be open and teachable as they are fed with God’s Word preparing their hearts to invite Jesus Christ into their lives. We can care for them with encouragement to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, teaching them godly character and encouraging them to participate in a Bible believing church.  Ultimately, we can feed and nurture our grandchildren by deliberately praying for them regularly and specifically each day.

How are you feeding and nurturing your lambs to walk with God?  Above all…intentionally pray for them

Will you share with our readers how you feed and nurture your grandchildren to love the Lord using the comment box below?  It is always helpful to hear how other grandparents are sharing God’s love and with their grandchildren.
