My Grandmother is praying for me Proverbs 22:1

“A good name is more desirable than great riches,
To be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”
? Proverbs 22:1

Lord, our reputations are reflections of the choices we make.

I pray that my grandchild will never act in a manner

that would compromise his/her character or shame his/her name.

Help him/her to see that a good name is more valuable than anything the world can offer.

Help him/her to maintain his/her reputation by walking with integrity.

Application: Ask your grandchild to tell you about someone he/she likes and respects. Discuss the character traits that attracted him/her to that person.

This prayer suggestion is used by permission from “My Grandmother is. . . praying for me” by Kathryn March, Pamela Ferris, and Susan Kelton. They are three ordinary grandmothers desiring to pray for the next generation to become men and women of strong character and great faith. They have a verse from the Proverbs, a prayer for the verse and an application for each day of the year. I have found the book an excellent resource for praying from my grandchildren, especially for character development. You may order the book from their website: www.mygrandmotheris.com.
