Encouragement For A Grandparent With A Broken Heart
SHARE THIS POST WITH OTHERS
I often receive emails from brokenhearted grandparents because of broken relationships with their children and grandchildren. Many grandparents are raising their grandchildren today.
However, we as grandparents have a God who heals broken bodies, broken minds, broken hearts, broken lives, and broken relationships.
The healing may be instantaneous or may be a long process, which we think takes too long.
God knows which is best. Our part is to ask God for healing, trusting Him, and thanking Him in the process of restoration. Sometimes healing takes place right away. However, Paul writes that after he pleaded with the Lord to heal his broken body, three times, God said to him,” My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (II Corthinians 12:7-10).
If your heart is broken over your grandchild, place your hope in God, His grace will give you strength in your weakness. Take time to be still in God’s presence so that he can strengthen you, as you reflect Him to our watching grandchildren.
Prayer:
Lord, please heal my grandchild of his/her brokenness with many broken relationships. I pray that my grandchild will recognize your unconditional love, open his/her heart to your love. Give me your wisdom to communicate your love and give me peace while I wait for You to work in his/her heart. In Jesus’ name.
