The Celebrating Advent booklet is a resource for observing the season of Advent whether you are celebrating it for the first time or the fiftieth. The ideas contained within are plentiful and varied to help meet the constraints of life seasons and to provide “freshness.” As the season approaches, take some time and contemplate how you and your family might make this a meaningful Advent by selecting options that speak to your soul. 

As October draws to a close and we turn our attention toward Thanksgiving, we are faced with myriad questions. The questions seem endless. Sadly, we often overlook the most important question of all.  How do we cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in our families? We start by looking at ways to reclaim Thanksgiving as a time for giving thanks.

One tiny seed has many potentials. Under the right conditions, a single seed can grow into a plant that will yield a great harvest. Spiritual multiplication is the same. The seed (prayers) that we sow in our grandchildren's lives will produce a harvest of blessing in the future, even into future generations.

God’s mercy is bountiful throughout the Bible, giving us numerous examples towards those who were rebellious, suffering, and in need.

A grandfather understands the nature of warfare and that our grandchildren are prime targets for the enemy who is seeking to devour them (and us). Develop a strategy for fighting in the power of God on the battlefield for life.

Investing in our grandchildren and children is a special assignment and privilege from the Lord that we take very seriously. But, burnout can slowly suck out our enthusiasm and joy. Find the true definition of a successful Christian grandparent.

National Legacy Grandparenting Summit 2021 Why do we gather? As grandparents we desire to learn, live, and leave a legacy of faith. We realize that is utterly impossible without the indwelling guidance and wisdom that comes through God’s Word and the Spirit. Undergirding all this is our desire to gather together to pray, praise, and worship our Lord.

Prayer is more than a soliloquy or monologue. It’s a conversation, a two-way dialogue, which involves both speaking and listening. Our grandchildren, as well as accounts in the Bible, have the power to teach us much about our conversations with God.
