Let’s make Grandparents’ Day on September 11, 2022,

a Day of Prayer for our grandchildren and their parents.

Grandparents’ Day of Prayer aims to raise an awareness of prayer among today’s Christian grandparents. Christian Grandparenting Network (CGN) invites you to participate in this movement to pray intentionally for our grandchildren, their families, and our world on Grandparent’s Day.

Today our nation is being attacked educationally, socially, financially, politically, racially, and spiritually. Christianity is under assault; parents and grandparents are involved in a tug of war for their children’s hearts and minds. They find it hard to navigate a world hostile to the truth with Satan’s aggressive attack on our families and nation.

We read in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT) ,
For a time is coming when people will
no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching.
They will follow their own desires and will
look for teachers who will
tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.
They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”

According to Barna Research, 58 percent of U.S. adults agreed that “identifying moral truth is up to each individual; there are no moral absolutes that apply to everyone, all the time. Surprisingly, 48 percent of adults who identified as born-again Christians agreed with the statement.1   This is what our grandchildren and their parents are exposed to hearing today.

Grandparents who believe in prayer can make a difference. Grandparents need to be intentional about the power of prayer to keep the hearts and minds of their grandchildren and their parents from falling captive to the enemy’s deception. We are engaged in spiritual warfare that requires prayer as a weapon. Therefore, Christian Grandparenting Network (CGN) invites you to join other grandparents to pray intentionally for our grandchildren, their families, and our world on Grandparent’s Day, September 11.

The Saga of the Little Red Bible

The Saga of the Little Red Bible

In preparation for my retirement in December 2023, I began to reflect on all the people and  events that had had a profound influence on me. The Little Red Bible played an important role in those reflections.

Jesus is Our Anchor

Jesus is Our Anchor

A ship’s anchor allows the vessel to remain fixed and unmoving regardless of the conditions at sea. Without the support of an anchor the ship would be tossed uncontrollably at the will of the winds and the waves. As with ships, we too need a steadfast anchor to keep us from drifting around aimlessly through life; one that is secure and unbending.

A Tribute to Grand-Mothers

A Tribute to Grand-Mothers

It doesn’t require a PhD to realize that were it not for the millions of faithful grandmothers in our lives who have graciously modeled Christlikeness to their grandchildren and guarded the truth, there would be considerably fewer of us who now know and follow Christ. I personally know dozens of men and women who are following Christ because of a grandmother—my grandmother included.
