Reality #1: God Is and Created ALL That Exists… Including YOU
Part Two
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:1, 27
“Purple mountain majesty” is a daily wonder for those of us who live the Rocky Mountains. The roaring power of Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls leave visitors speechless and awe. The towering splendor of the California’s redwoods, and the amazing hovering and darting flight antics of the hummingbird display an amazing, creative design. Every insect, every plant, every mineral, every landscape, every creature of the sea, air or land proclaim the reality of someone bigger than ourselves.
Only a fool can observe the uniquely beautiful, amazing world and universe around us and conclude it is all a product of chance. Unfortunately, there seems to be no shortage of fools in our world. Yet, even those who claim to not believe in God are captivated by the wonders of the world around us. Unfortunately creation, not the Creator, is their “god”.
Of all that God has created, His crown jewel is man (male and female), each created with individual uniqueness, confirmed through fingerprints and DNA. Yet, the uniqueness God created in each of us is much more than physical. There can be no doubt of a vital link between Creator and creation, and that link is no more apparent than in the distinctive, divine imprint of the Imago Deo that leads us to uniquely think, love, feel, learn, experience, create and express. Our uniqueness is an expression of His deep love and special plan for us. There is no one else like you, and everything He made, He made for you.
A product of chance? Not a chance!
FANNING THE FLAME
Evolution underlies the belief system of today’s culture. Challenge your grandchildren to ask probing questions about that system, look at the evidence, and begin to think for themselves. Why, what, how questions open the door for meaningful dialogue more than lecturing or arguing. Use some of the excellent resources available to explore the uniqueness of design in all of creation, ask the questions that science and evolution are unable to answer, and grasp what a treasure each of us is to God.
