Is It Worth It?

If you’re a grandmother, you know full well the challenges of being a mother and a grandmother. You also know there is a reason God usually appointed young women to the role of motherhood. (How did Sarah do it?) Perhaps you can relate to the question I’m sure most mothers have asked, “Is it worth it?” If you’ve seen the movie, Moms’ Night Out, that was the question the main characters had to wrestle with every day.

Grandmothers are sometimes faced with that same question. Perhaps you are raising your grandchildren and not only wondering if it’s worth it, but can I really do this? Even if you are not raising your grandchildren full time, there are those days when they run you to very limits of your endurance when you find yourself plopped down on the sofa and asking the same question…is it worth it?

So, is it worth it? From my vantage point I can only say, “Of course it is.” But then, I’m not a grandmother, so maybe I should let a grandmother answer that question. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do on this Mothers’ Day.
