Obey God’s Commandments

by | Apr 11, 2010 | 0 comments

You must obey all the commands of the Lord your God,
following his instructions in every detail.
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow.
THEN you will live long and prosperous lives in the land
you are about to enter and occupy.  Deuteronomy 5: 32, 33 (NIV)

This is a great verse to pray for our grandchildren—to choose to obey all the commands of the Lord and follow his instructions in every detail of their lives. When they are young, our prayer for them might be to obey their parents or tell the truth. As they get older our prayer for them may be to choose their friends wisely or not cheat in school.

If they learn God’s commandments, it will be in their hearts to help them stay on the Lord’s path. If they follow and obey God’s Word, then they will have a happy, successful life. Life may not always be easy, but God will always be there for them even in the hard times.

Let’s pray that our grandchildren will know and obey God’s Word, growing up to be godly men and women, then they will be happy and successful.
