Recognize God’s Presence

Last winter my oldest granddaughter, living in Southern California had a car accident while driving in heavy rain on a busy freeway. She was driving on the inside lane when she lost control and the car flew across three lanes of the freeway and back again into the center medium. It was a miracle that there were no cars nearby, so she didn’t hit another car. The car was badly damaged from hitting the guardrails; she only had a few bruises and some sore muscles. It was just as if God had placed a shield of protection around her, controlling the traffic, and kept her from hitting other vehicles.

Everyday my husband and I pray for the safety of our children and grandchildren. We felt so bad one of them had to experience the traumatic incident but at the same time, we praised the Lord because we really saw how God protected her and answered our prayers.

Sometimes God allows us to go through difficult times so He can reveal His presence to us. I have had many hard health issues but God has always revealed more of himself to me during those times. I have experienced that the God of the mountain is also the God of my valleys.

Pray that your grandchildren will see how God is working in their lives. Many times, we don’t recognize God’s presence with us at the time however when we look back, we see how He was there all the time.

Pray for a shield of protection over your children and grandchildren physically, emotionally and spiritually every day.

This week share how God has revealed Himself to your grandchildren in the comments.

6 Ways to Love a Grandchild In College

It’s the time of year when college-aged grandchildren are shopping for dorm room or apartment supplies as they prepare to begin a new adventure away from the home in which they grew up. No longer “children” but not yet independent adults. Grandparents must adjust their methods of connection with those I lovingly refer to as “chronological adults.”
