Do you feel your prayers are effective for your grandchildren? Our prayers will be more effective if they are specific and not vague. Pray individually for each grandchild.
The apostle Paul wrote from prison, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know unto God” Phil. 4:6. Specific
requests will give us specific answers. “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Phil. 4:7.
When I started praying for specifically for my grandchildren, my prayer time became more fulfilling because I could recognize the answers to prayer. In praying for the younger children, it
is helpful to ask their parents for specific requests. For the older children, ask them “How can I pray for you?” I was so blessed when one of my granddaughters recently called to give me a
prayer request. Let’s be specific when we pray for our grandchildren.
Examples:
Pray your grandchild will be more sensitive to his/her siblings.
Pray your grandchild will learn obedience to parents, teachers, and those in authority.
Pray they will choose good friends.
Pray they will be attentive to their teachers and do well in school.
